Black Butler was something I decided to watch only because I saw so much paraphernalia for it! I think there were at least half a dozen times where I walked in a store and saw all of these shirts, posters, plush toys, and accessories all for this series.
So… it went on the list!
Something I didn’t know about this series, is that it was a Japanese animation. That being said, the way they do there animation, and the way America does their animation is COMPLETELY different. But not in a bad way. It’s just different than the American shows, which I’m obviously more familiar with.
The first three episodes had me completely lost. I honestly had no idea what was going on, and it was actually quite difficult to want to continue. But, since it was on the list… I persisted.
Overall, it was okay. It became more interesting towards the end of the first season since I was interested to see how they were going to wrap up the story. I don’t know why they are strongly merchandising the show as much as they do. Perhaps I’m not completely grasping the entire story, I’m not sure.
I am still happy that I watched it. It’s something that I usually don’t normally gravitate towards. And now when I see all the merchandise for it, I can understand a little bit more to it. I haven’t BOUGHT any of the items, but I’m at least familiar with it, so I guess that counts towards something.
