Buy My Mom Flowers (#28)

My mom is a wonderful woman. She’s a hard worker, compassionate, funny, and an all around amazing woman. She raised both my brother and I with good morals. She was stern and taught us right from wrong. Being a mother is incredibly difficult. Being a father is hard too. You can’t forget the dad’s out there. But my mom gave me life. And I feel like she doesn’t get enough credit for what she does. Recently, my mom has been through a lot. She’s come across a wave of battles that she’s constantly pushing through. And while I can’t help … Continue reading Buy My Mom Flowers (#28)

Watch: Black Butler Series (#24)

Black Butler was something I decided to watch only because I saw so much paraphernalia for it! I think there were at least half a dozen times where I walked in a store and saw all of these shirts, posters, plush toys, and accessories all for this series. So… it went on the list! Something I didn’t know about this series, is that it was a Japanese animation. That being said, the way they do there animation, and the way America does their animation is COMPLETELY different. But not in a bad way. It’s just different than the American shows, … Continue reading Watch: Black Butler Series (#24)

Go to the Aviary (#13)

I‘ve never been to the aviary. That’s pretty much how this made the list. So we went, and we actually had a really good time! We both had the notion that birds weren’t exactly going to be exciting. But we actually had fun! They were really cool. There were so many different types, and there were so many that I have never seen in real-life. I mean, vultures are REALLY HUGE birds! We learned all about each species, got to play with the birds, and watched a bat feeding. Pretty cool, huh? Surprisingly, it was rather affordable. I think we … Continue reading Go to the Aviary (#13)

Book Page Craft (#11)

I think I found this idea on Pintrest. Or at least Pinterest lead me to a site for this craft. Basically, you just find a favorite page of your book (or any book really), blow it up, and frame it! That’s it! Three easy steps for you! I will say that this is the MOST EXPENSIVE craft I have ever done. Reason being, I went to a craft store, and got it framed. If you wanted to frame it yourself, I’m sure it would totally be cheaper. The reason why I had to go the craft route was because when … Continue reading Book Page Craft (#11)

Stenciled Canvas Set (#26)

I actually found this craft on a flyer at Michael’s craft store. They had a whole stand of them ranging from easy to hard. When I saw this one, I thought that it looked fairly easy and put it on my list! I will say that these are really cheap to make! If you want to add a little something to your room, but don’t know how or don’t want to spend a lot of money – this is it! It took me about 2 days to do. But really, it was probably only a grand total of 4 hours. … Continue reading Stenciled Canvas Set (#26)

Strawberry Pretzel Squares (#25)

Happy 4th of July! If you are wondering what to make for any of your parties, look no further because I have an awesome recipe for you! I’ve had this dessert a few times, and I always wanted to know how to make it so… here it is! It made the list! I got the recipe here, and I have to say that it really is quite easy to make. It also turned out to taste A-MAZ-ING! I’m always surprised when I bake things, and they actually turn out okay. It just amazes me! Clearly, I’m not that great of … Continue reading Strawberry Pretzel Squares (#25)

Go Ask Alice (#5)

**THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS – IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK, BUT WANT TO, I SUGGEST YOU TURN AWAY NOW. THANK YOU** For whatever reason, I never read this book. I was never assigned it in any of my English classes through high school or college. I don’t know why. I just wasn’t. I always hear a lot of people talk about it, or mention it. While it might have taken me this long, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. First off, it’s a quick and easy read. I think I read it in two days. … Continue reading Go Ask Alice (#5)

Loom Knitting (#10)

A friend of mine once had a scarf on that I really liked. I found out that she made it! How awesome is that? When I asked how, she told me that it was through loom knitting. So, off to Wal-mart I went! Surprisingly, they are actually very cheap! Off to work! I did a small little hat first so that I could get the hang of the process before taking on an entire scarf! Once the little hat turned out well, I took on my scarf! It definitely took some time to make, but in the end, it was … Continue reading Loom Knitting (#10)

Fly a Kite (#1)

I was walking into my apartment building one day, and there was an elderly gentleman sitting on the chair in the front area. He had something in his hands that I couldn’t see. As I approached him, he started talking with me. What he had was a sort of reel. When I asked what it was for, he said, “To fly a kite.” And thus borne was this idea. I had immediately put it on my list. When I was out and about, I managed to find a kite that was…….. cheap. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know … Continue reading Fly a Kite (#1)
