Mystery Dinner

As an anniversary gift, my wonder and amazing husband got us tickets for a Mystery Dinner! He got the tickets through The Dinner Detective, and I have to admit, it was pretty freaking awesome! The show we had allowed us to dress up since it was close to Halloween. So, he went as a Jedi and I went as a bumble bee. There were others there that dressed up also, but a few just came in dinner casual wear (which was fine too). The dinner was a four-course meal, and naturally the show. There’s no real stage so the actors … Continue reading Mystery Dinner

Painting with a Twist (#11)

It was a big thing to do a paint night with alcohol. It’s still a big thing, but the phase has sort of passed. I still wanted to do it though. We did it with Paint Nite and we had fun! I know that each painting night has their own rules. With Paint Nite, we didn’t have a stencil already on our canvas. They had the paint,  brushes, and aprons all ready for us when we got there. Since it was hosted at a bar, you could arrive early and get food or you can just get drinks, whichever you … Continue reading Painting with a Twist (#11)

Read: Hitchhiker’s Guide (#17)

Once upon a time, I started to read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and then something happened and I never finished it. Well, on the list it went! I finished the book in maybe 3 days? It’s not a very long book and it’s definitely an easy read. Plus, it’s hilarious and fun to read. I’m actually almost finished with the second book in the series (Restaurant at the End of the Universe). This is a book that I recommend everyone read. Like I said, it’s funny and it’s a quick read so you can still have time to read … Continue reading Read: Hitchhiker’s Guide (#17)

Make a Picture Frame Tray (#21)

This tray has taken me YEARS! Want to know why? Because I’m awful at measuring and even worse with a drill. I got this idea from Pinterest, which is basically where everything I do comes from. It started out as something simple. Find a picture frame. Drill some holes in the frame to attach handles. Decorate and/or spray paint tray and enjoy. I’ve gone through about 5 frames. I know, I know. You’re thinking, “How can you screw that up?!” Trust me, it’s easier said than done. The frame that I wanted was a tad bit more complex than I … Continue reading Make a Picture Frame Tray (#21)

Go to Papa Gallo (#7)

I have to get my postings back on track! So in an effort, I’m going to catch up on some things that have been pushed to the side. Papa Gallo is a small restaurant that is about, I don’t know… 4 miles from my apartment? I’m not really good with distances. I could definitely walk there if I could without really passing out… so, I’m guessing it’s somewhat close. Anyway, they are only open for breakfast and lunch. I’ve always seen it, but obviously, never been to it, so it made my list. Now it’s a smaller restaurant so there are … Continue reading Go to Papa Gallo (#7)

Watch: Midnight Cowboy (#25)

Midnight Cowboy made the list, because when I was in my screenwriting class, it was mentioned a few times. I also heard about it through other means. First, I should mention that this is an X Rated film. It is one of the first actually. The movie was then switched to an R Rating, and went on to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Writing. So maybe that screenwriting course is going to come in handy some day 🙂 For me, this movie was a little bit hard to understand. There are some flashbacks that occur that you sort … Continue reading Watch: Midnight Cowboy (#25)

Watch: Stand By Me (#6)

Stand By Me made the list, because I have heard a lot of people reference it or part of it. In that time, I have found out what the movie is about and some of the interesting facts about the main leads. After watching it, I will admit that it’s one of those ‘feel good’ movies. It’s definitely a character movie so if you haven’t seen it yet, just be prepared for a slower movie. There are no action sequences or explosions. I definitely liked that about the movie. It’s more about the boys, and life, and growing up. Overall, … Continue reading Watch: Stand By Me (#6)

Screenwriting Class (#29)

I was browsing Groupon one day, and I saw a Groupon for a Screenwriting Course. My mind immediately thought, “Why not?” Thus, it came to be that taking the course would make it to my list. First and foremost, I was not paid to take this course nor was I paid to write a review on this course. Also, Groupon has no idea that I have mentioned them so it’s safe to say I wasn’t paid by Groupon to use their name in this post. Moving on… The course was for Industrial Scripts. There, they have a whole list of … Continue reading Screenwriting Class (#29)

Make a Coffee Drink (#20)

I had a similar task on my 27 Before 27 list. For that, I made a Spotted Owl. I have to say that I definitely enjoyed making something different and making it myself instead of a barista. No hate towards the baristas, they’re good peeps. Anyway, this time around I decided to make a London Fog. Basically, it’s an Earl Grey latte. I know that it is more of a Tea Drink than coffee, but when I saw it, I just totally wanted to do it. So, I made it my drink! My wonderful husband surprised me with some glass … Continue reading Make a Coffee Drink (#20)

Cup of Joe (#23)

I found this program from reading another blog. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the blog, but, it ultimately stuck with me. Basically, you pay $2 to buy a cup of coffee for a solider. You can send a message if you want and leave an email if you want to continue to communicate with a solider should he/she decide to respond. This is my first time doing this, but I thought that spending $2 for a cup of coffee for a solider was an easy thing to do. I mean, I can EASILY spend $6 on a cup of Starbucks coffee … Continue reading Cup of Joe (#23)
