Bringing in the New Year

Hello all! I hope everyone had a great and safe New Year celebration. I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but class has been keeping me busy pretty much every single day and night that I have available. I do want to get back into writing though, because I feel like I need to do something that I ACTUALLY like. I feel like most of my days are spent doing things I don’t want to do, but sort of have to. I’m sure I’m not the only one who isn’t too crazy happy to go to work most … Continue reading Bringing in the New Year

We Met at a Bar

I’ve heard two different stories that started like this. As you know, I’ve been trying tirelessly to find a job. So, I’ve been asking around, seeing how people found some of their jobs. Surprisingly enough, two stories started with this line, “We met at a bar.” The story pretty ┬ámuch is the same for both of them. They were at a bar, struck up a conversation with someone and by Monday started their new job. Since when is the bar a job fair? How often do these people go to bars? Was this a one-time, at-the-right-place-at-the-right-time kind of deal? Cause … Continue reading We Met at a Bar

Hello 2014

Dear 2014: Hello! Welcome! You have the next 12 months to be either really awesome, or completely suck. I’m hoping for the former. You will be in charge of all events and weather. Either way, if you really suck or are really awesome, you’re going to be recorded. Please do not be mundane. I’ve had a few boring years in my life, and I’m not looking towards having another one. You might be the year that changes my life forever. You might be the year that I decide to make myself even better. You might be the year big decisions … Continue reading Hello 2014

Too Young, Too Old

I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this but how come no one is ever ‘at the right age’ to do a lot of things? I’ve heard by parents tell me time and time again that I’m too young to settle down with a guy. “Wait til you’re older,” they always say. But the thing of it is, when exactly this that ‘older’ age? Others who are my age are married… some even have a kid… or more than one kid. I’m told that ‘it’s okay for them, but I’m still too young.’ Again, I’m not real sure what that … Continue reading Too Young, Too Old

Five Guys and Me

For whatever reason, my mom has been rambling on about Five Guys and how we have to eat there! I don’t know why! It’s a burger joint… like Burger King… or McDonald’s! I’ve been to Burgatory and I can’t wait to go back because the ambiance is incredible… and they have good burgers too. But, anyway, my mom and I went out and she insisted that we stop at Five Guys to eat. I got a little cheeseburger and she got a little bacon burger. All in all, it was okay… I still think Burgatory is better but, we all … Continue reading Five Guys and Me

Thank You

I just want to take a moment to thank you. Thank you for kicking me out. Thank you for trying to blame all of it on me. Thank you for sticking me with all the bills. Thank you for lying to me… continually. Thank you for showing me how much you don’t care. Thank you for posting the pictures of you smiling with her… Thank you for never smiling in the pictures with me. Thank you for going out with her… Thank you for never going out with me. Thank you for moving on so quick. Thank you for showing … Continue reading Thank You

On Display

There have been a few times in my life when I spent some time in an office. I’ve even had the great pleasure of spending a moment in someone’s home. While in each of these places, I have this habit of sort of looking around. Not snooping, just sort of scanning the room. It’s always interesting to see what people choose to display. Sometimes, there are pictures, other times there are books, sometimes a candle display or two. I always find this interesting because most of the time… it’s just for display. The candles have never been burned. I don’t … Continue reading On Display

Grace In Small Things

Hey everyone, it’s Saturday! It’s also the first day of December… and it’s 54 degrees! I hope the warm weather keeps coming! Alright, I’m sure you’re excited, so let’s get to it! 1 – Harvest Spice Cappuccino. If you have a Sheetz around you, get one of these. As you know, I’m obsessed with Pumpkin Spice and this is definitely a slice of Pumpkin Pie. You’ll love it! I promise! 2 – Do Nothing Days. These are the type of days where you sort of just lounge around all day. You stay at home, don’t shower, and just stay in … Continue reading Grace In Small Things

My Obsession: Pumpkin Spice

I don’t know what’s gotten into me. I really don’t. I’m not usually the one to become fanatic about much. I mean, I enjoy coffee, movies, purses, makeup and shoes just like any other girl out there but there’s something that I’ve recently become obsessed about that I truly have no explanation as to why. The people in my life have really begun to question my sanity at this point. The people I work with and the BF are probably becoming sick and tired of me talking about such things but… I can’t help myself. I have become obsessed with … Continue reading My Obsession: Pumpkin Spice

Jalapeno Poppers (#19)

As I’m sure you’re already familiar with my list, I’ve decided to take on the challenge of #19: Jalapeno Poppers. I know, I know, it sounds easy but you have to realize that I’m an awful cook. Like… awful… it’s horrible how bad I am I’m sure the older generations would be ashamed of me. But! I did try it! Unfortunately, I took the photos on my phone and then my phone SD card broke so, I lost the photos! Sucks, right?! The RARE TIME that I cook and my evidence is destroyed! I found the recipe here and I … Continue reading Jalapeno Poppers (#19)
