Recap: 29 Before 29

I’m not going to lie, this year was rough. It was a busy year mainly because I was getting married, but I also started a new job. Needless to say, I did the best that I could and while this might not have been my best year, I did get to do some really amazing things. So, let’s do a quick recap before unleashing the list for next year! Fly a Kite (Completed) Take a self-defense class (not complete) Learn to shoot a gun (not complete) Read: Capote (not complete) Read: Go Ask Alice (completed) Read: Sophie’s Choice (not complete) … Continue reading Recap: 29 Before 29

(#15) Cool Hand Luke

I like older movies. I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Move Over, Darling, Rear Window, Charade, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, etc. I don’t mind the stories, the lack of CGI, the lack of obscenities, and a ton more glamour. But when it came to Cool Hand Luke, I think I missed something. I understand the story. The whole movie is about a man who rebels against the life of a prisoner. Naturally, he tries to escape numerous times, and by doing so, gives hope to his other inmates. And that’s about it. The main point I don’t understand is, at the beginning, Luke gets … Continue reading (#15) Cool Hand Luke

What Everyone Wants to Know

I’m reading a book that is on my birthday list, and as I’m about half way through it, I think, “I wonder how this ends.” And then I began to think, that’s the one thing everyone wants to know. “How does the book end?” “How does the movie end?” It’s the most criticized part of everything. “I hate how it ended.” “The ending sort of left you hanging.” No one really wants to know how things all began, they want to know how it ends. You would think people would be interested in the beginning. Do you want to know … Continue reading What Everyone Wants to Know

The Green Mile (#7)

This movie made the list, because it was extremely popular (released in 1999), and it was nominated for numerous awards. I’ve heard that it’s on a lot of ‘Top Lists’ of movies. Everyone that I know who has seen it recommended it to me. So, finally, I decided to watch it. I had it listed on my 26 Before 26 list; however, I never got the chance to complete it. It’s amazing how you can’t find time for a movie. But, I knew it was long and everyone said it was good, so I wanted to really give my full … Continue reading The Green Mile (#7)

Most Memorable Valentine’s Day

There is one Valentine’s Day that I will always remember, and hold dear to my heart. It was back in… 2005… HOLY SHIT! This was THAT LONG AGO??!! I was 18! I’ve remembered this for almost a decade now… God, do I feel old. Anyway, back in 2005 (sobs), my girlfriend (Chica) and I, didn’t have Valentine’s dates. But, we didn’t want to just sit at home, and feel bummed about it. So, we decided to go out and have a date of our own. I’m pretty sure we ate somewhere, I’m thinking Eat N’ Park, but I’m not sure. … Continue reading Most Memorable Valentine’s Day

27 Before 27: Recap

It has been an incredible year, not only because of my list, but also because of the external events that have taken place. I will admit, I didn’t complete it. And I’m kind of sad, because this is the second time I’ve done it. The first time, I didn’t complete everything and now, I’ve done the same. But, I have a new list coming – which I will get to – and I hope I can be better with this coming year. Okay, let’s start: 1. Night at the drive-in – completed – see post 2. 31 Days of Vegetarian … Continue reading 27 Before 27: Recap
