Sunshine Girl (#8)

I wanted to color my hair, because I was looking for something a little different. I’ve been through the colors – black, dark brown, and red. Since summer is supposed to be here… some time… hopefully before September, I wanted to go a little lighter. Plus, I thought it would be fun to put on my list of things to do this year. It’s a way of making a change without really making a change… if that makes sense. Anyway, I’m not going to lie… I don’t know how I feel about it. I’ve always kind of stayed more on … Continue reading Sunshine Girl (#8)

In three weeks, it’s going to officially be fall. Our pool has it’s last day on Monday (Labor Day) and I have to say, I’m super bummed. We moved in about the second week of August, so we really only had about 3 weeks to really see it. John went down on his vacation and I’ll be going down on Monday to have the last swim of the season. It’s times like these when I really miss the Y. With an indoor pool, swimming was all year round. I’m already missing it. Hopefully, luck will find a way to bring … Continue reading Poolside

Summer Concerts

I am so incredibly fortunate to get to go to two concerts this summer. This is the first of them: Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20. I have to say, I have fun no matter who I go to see. I had such a great time singing, dancing, and drinking. I’m not going to lie, it was pretty freaking awesome. I got to spend some quality time with really great people and I am so abundantly lucky to have these opportunities and these wonderful, amazing people in my life! Good time, good friends, good music! Rock on! Continue reading Summer Concerts

Night at the Drive-In (#1)

On my great list of things to do, I listed that I wanted to go to the drive-in only because it has been YEARS since I’ve gone. So, with it on my list – it soon became a priority. Since the weather has warmed, the local drive-ins have been opening and offering some really great double features. The one of choice was: Star Trek and Oblivion Two action movies for the price of one,you got it! Plus, Groupon makes it easy to find some really awesome summer deals! But – back to the experience – I really enjoyed myself. I … Continue reading Night at the Drive-In (#1)

Summer Reading

Okay, so well, it’s not summer – yet! But that doesn’t mean you can’t start your summer reading projects! Pick just a few books – like three – and give your imagination a workout this summer. They don’t have to be deep, heavy reads… they can be funny, smart, historical, or even a biography or memoir. Give your brain a workout! Plus, you can look all smart and sound smart when you mention it to people that you’re reading! 🙂   Continue reading Summer Reading

Pretty in Pink

I don’t know why I’m color obsessed lately… I think it’s the warmer weather. At any rate, I unintentionally work a lot of pink the other day. I’m not quite sure why but, again, I blame the warmer weather. With the changing seasons (and the changing out of winter clothes) I found that my wardrobe now consists of a lot more colors than the usual drab of blacks and grays. So, I up and decided to wear a bunch of pink. I had nowhere in particular I was going, I actually just stayed home and read but it still felt … Continue reading Pretty in Pink

Make a Coated Grape Salad (#27)

On my list, I wanted to make something a little fun but definitely very easy! I came across this recipe and it seemed to be something that would be really great for summer parties or family gatherings. I usually like to try the recipe out first, on my own, before serving it to family, friends, or loved ones because knowing me – something will go wrong. So, since spring is (somewhat) here, I decided to whip up this quick little treat. I found the recipe online here and I absolutely love her blog so please feel free to browse around … Continue reading Make a Coated Grape Salad (#27)

Fruit Pizza, #26

On my list, is Fruit Pizza. The recipe was found here. I’m not going to lie, when the finished product was sitting before me… I was in awe. It looked amazing. I’m not one to toot my own horn, but seriously – toot! toot! This turned out beyond fantastic! It tasted… oh! I don’t even know. It was delectable, mouth-watering, heavenly… I mean, I could go on and on! I would recommend this 1,000,000% for anything. It’s great for 4th of July (which I know has passed but still), it’s good for family reunions, weddings, birthdays, etc. It’s the perfect … Continue reading Fruit Pizza, #26

Grace In Small Things

It’s Saturday! And it’s a three day weekend for me so I’m even more happier than usual about it! Yay! But, let’s get things going… 1. Robes. I recently bought a new, summer robe (I know, it’s late in the summer). But I’m telling you what, I’m totally loving it! I’m definitely going to buy one for the winter as well. It’s just something to keep me warm on those still chilly mornings. Definitely get a robe if you don’t have one! 2 – Beach nails. I recently painted my nails a Beachy Blue… I don’t know if that’s the … Continue reading Grace In Small Things

Grace In Small Things

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by on this wonderful Saturday! It’s time for Grace In Small Things! 1 – REALLY Early mornings. There are some days when I have to be at work at 6:30 a.m. but it’s also a 45 minute drive, and I want to leave room in case something happens, so, I’m on the road an hour early and that’s putting me about 5 a.m. on the road. I don’t know if any of you have ever been on the road that early but there’s something magical about it. It’s quiet and the talk radio hasn’t quite … Continue reading Grace In Small Things
